Beaufort highlights challenges and benefits of bilingual working

Senior Research Executive Osian Bowyer last Wednesday gave a talk to Welsh learners about his experiences of using the Welsh language regularly in business.

The course was organised by the University of Glamorgan Business School and was specifically designed to help lecturers and students improve their Welsh, and to give them confidence to use the language in a working and social environment. Attendees made the most of the concluding Q&A session, asking Osian probing questions on how exactly Welsh is used within a busy commercial environment.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the experience”, commented Osian. “I was really happy to have this opportunity to talk to learners about how the Welsh language is used at Beaufort, along with the challenges and benefits bilingual working brings.”

Beaufort MD Fiona McAllister added “Bilingual working is very important to us at Beaufort so we’re happy to help with promoting the use of Welsh in the private sector wherever we can.”
