Beaufort only Welsh agency selected for BBC audience research roster

Beaufort Research is the only Welsh agency to succeed in gaining a place on the BBC’s new audience research roster, which will provide the Corporation with a broad spectrum of qualitative and quantitative research skills.

Beaufort has worked with the BBC for a number of years, carrying out a wide range of research projects in Wales covering radio, television, online media and consumer viewing habits and attitudes. Studies have been conducted in English and Welsh.

There are 36 other agencies on the new audience research roster, which will stand for a minimum of two years.  James Holden, Head of Audiences for the BBC, said “The BBC conducts a variety of research projects each year to understand what our audiences want and value, and the insights gained are an essential part of how we create quality content.”

Fiona McAllister, Managing Director of Beaufort, said “We’re absolutely delighted to have won a place on the new BBC audience research roster in the face of very stiff competition from some of the best research talent across the UK.  Our focus on Wales and our Welsh language research capabilities are unique strengths that have been recognised by the BBC. We look forward to continuing to provide the BBC, and BBC Wales in particular, with the insight it needs into Wales and its Welsh audiences in future.”

Other agencies on the BBC roster include GfK NOP, Ipsos Mori and YouGov.
