Beaufort to conduct large-scale survey of arts engagement and attitudes in Wales

The Arts Council of Wales requires a statistically reliable picture of people’s engagement with and attitudes to the arts in Wales. This information is gained via large scale population surveys which inform funding and strategy development, enable the Council to evaluate their work, and demonstrate the impact and value of the arts. Beaufort is delighted to have been appointed to undertake the latest of these studies, the 2015 Arts in Wales survey.

The survey will involve our team interviewing in excess of 4,000 people across Wales measuring attendance at, and participation in, a range of arts events and activities, in addition to examining barriers to engagement with the arts.  We will also be able to monitor engagement and attitudes over time, by comparing findings with the previous Arts in Wales surveys undertaken in 2010 and 2005.

Chris Timmins, Director of Beaufort, said “As a long standing research supplier to the Arts Council, we are delighted to have been commissioned to undertake such an important study. We’re proud of our reputation for delivering high quality, large scale survey research in Wales and being appointed to undertake the 2015 Arts in Wales study further underlines these credentials. We’re looking forward to successfully delivering this contract and to the valuable insights and high quality data it will provide to the Council.”
