It’s our birthday! Beaufort reflects on 30 years in business

2014 marks the 30th anniversary for Cardiff-based marketing and social research agency Beaufort. Beaufort has a team of fifteen specialist staff and hundreds of interviewers delivering insight through qualitative and quantitative research to a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors.

Managing Director Fiona McAllister commented: “Although times have changed, the need for an agency which understands Wales and offers a Welsh perspective is as great today as it was when Beaufort was established.  While our research often covers the UK we’re proud of our Welsh focus and bilingual offer, which we know many clients value”.

image Beaufort’s work continues to be varied and high-profile.  The company recently completed a major project for BBC Wales, S4C and the Welsh Government which explored Welsh speakers’ language use in their daily lives. Recent work for the Commission on Devolution in Wales also caught the headlines, helping to understand public opinion on where law-making powers should lie. In October, Beaufort’s work contributed to the BBC’s Live Longer Wales season focusing on health and lifestyles.

Chris Timmins, Beaufort Director said “We’ve invested heavily in technology and use tablets for in-home interviewing nowadays. It means we’ve been able to partner with TNS-BMRB on the National Survey for Wales which provides the Welsh Government with a picture of the public’s views on a range of key policy areas such as health and education. Now we’re looking forward to the next thirty years of helping our clients make informed decisions”.
