Our research informs Citizen’s Advice report on living without mains gas

While the majority of people living in Great Britain are able to heat their homes using mains gas, 16% of GB households rely on non-gas fuels such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG), heating oil or solid fuel (coal, coke or wood) for heating their homes. These are commonly referred to as ‘off-gas’ households.

To better understand their experiences, Beaufort were commissioned by Citizens Advice (England and Wales) and Citizens Advice Scotland to carry out quantitative and qualitative research across England, Scotland and Wales. The project also included a mystery shopping element.

Key research results are included in a new Citizens Advice report – Living without mains gas and in more detail in the full research reports on their website.
